Hi Mr & Mrs Pistorius
As Simon mentioned to
you, we belong to a great scheme for owners of accommodation establishments
called Accommodation Swap, run by Mike Kieser - which, in essence,
costs accommodation owners a nominal joining fee and annual subscription,
and in exchange you get an initial number of nights' accommodation
at any establishment that belongs to the scheme, and the opportunity
to earn points when you host fellow Members. You are also able to
buy in a certain number of top up points annually which is a good
option too. Accommodation Swap works very well for us as we fill
up our quiet times and in return we have had some lovely getaways
in 4 and 5 star establishments (which is the level at which we are
comfortable, as we suspect you will be) as well as being
accommodated for almost 2 weeks close to Panorama Clinic when Simon
was hospitalised. And I must say we NEVER made the effort to go
away prior to joining Accommodation Swap!We have met some really
lovely people and have our regulars as well as being regulars ourselves
at certain places and we swap info and recommendations on
the places that we visit also.
Kindest regards
Bronwen & Simon

Dear Mike I need to send a note
on Macfarlanes Farm Stay with Leon and Elsa Strachan from MacFarlanes
in Harrismith. We spent a awesome weekend with them in the cottage
next to the lake. On Saturday Leon(who wrote a couple of books)
and is an expert on the History in and around Harrismith took
us on a trip that took all day, on the Spioenkop Battlefield route,
in and around Harrismith. He is an excellent tour guide, the way
he led us through every detail and explained every incident and
monument on the ongoing struggle, that went on for days and ended
on 24th Jan 1900 This was absolutely fantastic you could almost
feel the heat see the blood and feel the pain that the soldiers
suffered. Afterwards they treated us to a real boere picnic on
the top of spioenkop! Leon is very passionate about history and
I could not believe all the detail he shared with the group. We
then invited Leon&Elsa to watch the rugby with us and enjoy dinner.
Great hosts and I would recommend their Establishment for every
member in the group who enjoys a cottage stay next to a lake and
a place of tranquillity.....with no cell reception!! so you can
rest totally, don’t worry the birds wake you up, all beds have
electric blankets and a great fireplace to spend the evenings
playing games or cards or enjoy the stories that he has published
in a book describing all the interesting characters in Harrismith!

Hi Bicara Thank you so much for
your recent hospitality. From our arrival to our departure we
received exceptional, friendly service (which was always just
a phone call away) and our stay at Lemon Tree Cottage was simply
perfect. The cottage was beautifully presented, exceptionally
well equipped and spotlessly clean - certainly very well deserving
of the 5 star rating and a great asset to Accommodation Swap.
We shall certainly be back. Thanks again & kindest regards Bronwen

Dear Mike
Just dropping a note to recommend other fellow Establishment owners
to visit Leon&Elsa In Harrismith-McFarlanes S/c cottage.
They welcomed us with Fresh brewed filter coffee on a chilly afternoon,
entertained us with stories and facts on history in and around
Harrismith. Lit the fireplace and we spend a most enjoyable night
in the cosy cottage overlooking a dam and surrounding mountain.
Wll defnately be back to play with Katryn, their watchdog with
whom I closely connected with on arrival. The kids from the UK
agree this was a highlite on their visit to SA!
Kind regards

Dear Mike
I refer to the letter from Ian
& Sue Pile, Pile-Inn B&B Underberg, and wish to convey
that I had the privilege to stay there. Stunning hospitality,
lovely place, near the Drakensberg, all its beauty and then the
famous, beautiful must-do Sani Pass.
Underberg and that area is a destination,
where everybody should go, so please make use of their invitation
as you will leave with the fondest of memories.
This is exactly what makes Accommodation
Swap so worthwhile and exciting. Now we can go to all those wonderful
places where we would never under normal circumstances would have
gone or experienced.
Have a wonderful day!
Kind Regards,

Hallo Bob and Heather
I was looking for accommodation
in Gauteng recently when I stumbled across a site called ACCOMMODATION
SWOP. It is basically a club you join and by allowing other B
& B owners from all over the world to stay at your establishment
you earn points. They have been running for almost seven years
in SA and is a trusted and proven commodity. They are now expanding
to the overseas market too. You use your points to stay at any
facility world wide. At first I was a little skeptical but last
week I used my points for the first time. What a pleasure it turned
out to be. I stayed at the Valverde Hotel in Muldersdrift and
also at the Cosy Inn B & B in Edenvale. The total cost to
me 3 points. I have been in contact with a couple of the other
members and they all feel the same. A fantastic concept and the
best of all is that it really works. It is very easy to join and
the subscription fee is minimal. It is not reciprocal, so you
dont have to have the people you stayed with, staying with
you. I am not sure if you are able to circulate this amongst the
other members of the NAA but I definitely feel it will be beneficial
to the members. Below the website if you are interested to read
more.

Need a break ?- Join Accommodation
Swap
I have been a member of accommodation swap for about 4 years and
have found it a great way to get-away and meet wonderful people
in the same industry as we are. When the club first started there
were only a few 3 star guesthouses and B&B's on the site.
The club has grown and there are now 170 options to choose from
ranging from 3 star to 5 star establishments.
I have done many swaps throughout
the country as my boys play in badminton tournaments all over
the country every 2nd or 3rd weekend. Belonging to this club has
saved me a fortune in accommodation costs. Dennis and I spent
last weekend in Franschoek at the L'emitage Chateau and Villas
a 5 star establishment which was absolutely wonderful. 2 nights
at this establishment would have cost us R6000.00 if we had not
used our swap points.

1st August 2009
Dear Mike
Tks for the newsletter, much appreciated.
As you know, I am a new member, Michelle from MountainManor
suggested I join, she stayed here for over a week herself. While
I am not travelling THAT much within RSA, I thought for less than
R400, what the heck.
I am now going to the Cape for
a few days and am stunned at how accommodating both places I contacted
were. I booked one night at TOVERBERG, got confirmation, cancelled
a few days later due to 1time offering very cheap flights to Cape
Town, no point in driving there. I then booked one night at Joie
de Vivre in Paarl, also got a nice confirmation, changed that
yesterday to two nights, again no problem (yes, I know August
is probably out of season).
To be frank with you, I did not
expect this! Not that I thought that the system was a con
but this is great. As I am very unlikely to travel during high
season (certainly not in RSA, have guests then myself), I doubt
I will ever have problems in finding accommodation. Next week,
I have another guest staying here under the system (from North
Crest Manor, Durban).
Kind regards, Walter

Dear Mike
Thank you, I look forward to reaping
the benefits of belonging to the site. Already I have had an enquiry
for accommodation via the site but not as a swap; a direct booking
for a family member. So, belonging to the site has an added benefit!
Ive also had a welcome email from one of the members so
already feel as if I am part of a family. I wish you every success
in this venture.
Kind regards Margaret

Hi There
Back in PE after our trip to Hermanus via Knyna and wanted to
send you the info on the stunning concept 'accommodation swap',
I mentioned to you while handing out my brochures in Leisure Isle.
Please take a moment to read all about it and i can truly say
it is absolutely worth it. We became members in June and could
immediately utilize the points that were allocated and had a fabulous
stay at all the B&B's along the way to Hermanus!
You can contact Mike directly should you require any further info
Lets keep in touch!

Hi Mike,
We're back after a great time in Cape Town! I just want to thank
you for a really brilliant system - it worked like a dream!!
The hosts and staff at the Southern Right Hotel were charming
and very welcoming - the hotel has a wonderful 'olde worlde' atmosphere
with gleaming oregon floors, gorgeous rooms and stunning views
across the ocean. I would highly reccommend the hotel to other
members - they really deserve to do well!
Thanks again, Mike
Warm Regards

As part of the Beach House and
Beachfront Accommodation, Les had positive comments to make regarding
his stay at the respective B & B's. Onrus River has very pleasant
accommodation, and Les would particularly like to laud the professionalism
of Welgelegen's operation.
Perhaps there can be a "guestbook"
type of comment page included on your website for comments such
as these, to the advantage of the respective participants.(Accomswap
insert: Good suggestion Wayne - here it is! )
Our first experience with AccommodationSwap
has really been delightful, and we look forward to as much good
relationship as shown to us by yourself, and our fellow B &
B's.

Mike, I know a winner when it crosses
my path. This scheme is a winner. I will gladly give you feedback
when I return in 4 weeks. Because I know what we offer at Dolphin
Dunes, I am willing to make use of others as I will really offer
them something special if they are willing to make use of us.
Regards, Izak

Hi Mike,
I don't know if you have noticed this yet but not many people
leap into a new thing. They wait to see how much it progresses
and if it stays etc before they commit themselves (unlike me)
However, it means just keep plugging away. This will eventually
be the name for Accommodation Swap amongst B&B's hopefully
world wide. I will make some sort of presentation tomorrow if
I can
Cheers, Kerry

Dear Mike & the accommodation
swap team
Thank you for all your correspondence & effort regarding the
accommodation swap concept. From the start we thought it was a
brilliant idea & would like to congratulate you for not only
having it but also for putting it into practice. Everyone is able
to have great ideas, but it takes energy & guts to take the
plunge & stick with it (as we all, as entrepreneurs know,
I suppose!). Kind regards

I think this Accomodation Swap
is a wonderful idea & I look forward both to using it myself
& also of course to hosting other "swoppers" here
- it should all be good fun - travelling a bit & visiting
other areas & making friends with others in the same business.
Look forward to hearing from you,Regards,
Marguerite.
